Welcome!

Welcome to the Seattle Christian School website. We are excited to share about our school community and invite you to explore the various pages and possibilities.

SCS is a vibrant, comprehensive, K-12 Christian school in SeaTac, WA with a rich heritage of serving families and the Lord since 1946. Our mission is, “To proclaim Jesus Christ in all aspects of our program, emphasizing academic excellence and biblical Christian values, partnering with parents and the church to prepare godly young men and women so they may impact their world for Christ.” We are called to equip the next generation so that they can make a difference in the name of Jesus.

We are committed to developing the hearts and skills of every student, customizing the learning experience for each one’s story and background. We care deeply about our school culture and invest with intentionality to make sure it is a place of learning and unity. From core academic courses to the arts to athletics and activities to student leadership, our passion for students, and their growth as learners and Jesus followers is evident. We believe our diverse community of families not only offers an environment where each student can become who they are but also reveals a glimpse of heaven.

We are excited to share about our school community and invite you to discover why families are choosing SCS for their child’s Christ-centered education.

In His Service,

Chad McNatt

Gratitude Story #2 – Peter Watson

This November, we are looking back at all the Lord has done for Seattle Christian for over 75 years. At the core of SCS is our mission to prepare young men and women to impact the world for Christ and we can’t accomplish this mission without our families! Seattle Christian is grateful to have seen the Lord’s work in so many students’ lives and continue to see His hand at work every day!

Peter Watson is more than just a teacher at SCS. He’s an alumni, former parent, and a part of the legacy that is Seattle Christian. Read his story below:

As a former student-athlete at SCS (Class of 1992), I’m grateful for the coaches that come alongside our students and invest in their lives. Though we often measure the success of a coach by the number of banners that hang in the gymnasium, the true measure of success is the character development that is fostered in the life of a young person as they learn to compete with persistence, win with humility, and lose with dignity. These qualities prepare our students for the joys and sorrows that will inevitably come with life. Galatians 6:9 states, “And let us not grow weary of going good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” In our present culture, immediacy is often the barometer of impact. However, Paul reminds us that doing good requires a farmer’s patience and diligence, particularly when working with young people. This doesn’t mean we don’t strive for victories that can be tallied on a scoreboard or remembered in a trophy case. Instead, it means more excellent wins are achieved when a life of character is on display. This is the real impact a coach makes and one for which I’m grateful.

Want to give be a part of stories just like Peter’s? Give back to SCS this Giving Tuesday, November 29th!

Gratitude Story #1 – Melody Lothian

This November, we are looking back at all the Lord has done for Seattle Christian for over 75 years. At the core of SCS is our mission to prepare young men and women to impact the world for Christ. We accomplish our mission without our families. Seattle Christian is grateful to have seen the Lord’s work in so many students’ lives and continue to see His hand at work every day!

Melody Lothian is a parent at Seattle Christian. Read her story below:

Sending our daughter to Seattle Christian has been one of the best decisions as parents we have made. We came from a public school. When we left, our daughter was below reading and math standards. Since being at SCS she is not only at grade level standards but has been in honors or high honors roles. We have also had conversations after church about her understanding of the sermons and how she understands them better now because of her classes at SCS. She is not only succeeding in her everyday academics but also in her Bible knowledge and her love for Christ. I can’t say it has all been easy since being here. Covid was a strain on her, like many kids, but the principal, teachers, and coaches have been so loving and understanding and have put her health first before school! Teachers here at SCS go over and beyond! They are wonderful teachers but even more so, they are caring and loving Christian people! They show their love for the lord and their students. When talking with friends I often say how much we love it here and wish we have brought her here and our other children sooner.

Keep an eye out for more information on how you can give to SCS this Giving Tuesday and help us foster more stories like Melody’s!
