On October 5, Warrior families, alumni, school leaders, board members past and present, and former superintendents gathered to honor Seattle Christian’s rich history – 75 years of God’s faithfulness and provision. It was an evening to remember! The type of evening that fills the heart with deep gratitude for the remarkable legacy that humbly began in a church basement in North Seattle.
Some would say the History Walk through the decades was a definite highlight. Others would mention the fun trivia or the excellent welcome video featuring Doug Ross, Class of ’54, a member from the first graduating class from SCS as a high point. Many enjoyed reconnecting with members of the Warrior community as we gathered to give thanks for all that God has done. Whether an alumnus, former teacher or a current family in attendance, the richness of the evening was experienced by all: the worship, special speakers, delicious desserts, and prize giveaways all added to the fellowship, beauty and uniqueness of the celebration.
It’s a story told of God’s hand truly at work, a story of countless miracles, student stories, all while not forgetting the challenges and seasons of uncertainty through the decades. Through each prayer, set of circumstances and strategic decision, SCS continues to equip students to impact their world for Christ.
“What a God honoring event – it was a blessing to so many. It was evident that all the praise and glory goes to God for His goodness and faithfulness through the years. He has used so many people to do His good will these past 75 years at SCS.” – Deborah VanderLey, SCS Parent
