APEX Robotics Team Wins District Competition

Congratulations to Apex Robotics, winning the Auburn Mountainview District event! Not only did Apex secure the win with 40 teams participating, they were awarded the INDUSTRIAL DESIGN AWARD for an "elegantly designed machine which effectively achieves the games challenges."
Apex Robotics was recognized by their peers as having one of the top robots at the event. They were selected to be on the #1 ranked alliance by Team 4915 Spartronics from Bainbridge Island, and were also joined by Team 3223, The ROCK from Central Kitsap.  Together, these three teams ran the gauntlet in the playoff tournament on Sunday afternoon to emerge Champions!
This year's challenge is called FIRST STEAMWorks, where robots deliver gears to their team's airship, score "Fuel" (5 inch diameter whiffle balls) into a goal and then climb ropes at the end of the match for bonus points. Teams have six weeks to design and build their robots to meet the games challenges within the rules before competing.  Way to go, Apex!
