“Collaborating with students and encouraging the discovery and development of their artistic gifts” and “Growing in a supportive community of faculty and leadership professionals” are two of things that SCS’s Choral and Theater Director, Tyler Todd Kimmel, mention as things he most enjoys about teaching at Seattle Christian School.
Tyler Todd’s unique and varied educational background include a Masters in Music Composition and Conducting, opera study in Europe, and adjunct professorship at Pepperdine University. Mr. Kimmel is well known in the Puget Sound region for his acting, directing, and musical performance. He is a Music Director and Theater Arts Educator for youth programs such as the Hi-Liner’s Musical Theater, and Village KIDSTAGE as well as a free lance actor and musician. Some of you may have seen him in productions at Taproot Theatre or heard him on piano and vocals for a local band.
He loves supporting the budding actors and choral performers within the SCS student body as he serves as choir and theater director, sponsor and organizer of the WIT (Warrior Improv Troupe), and helps train and support the students who lead chapel worship.
Mr. Kimmel is one example of the quality of the Seattle Christian School faculty and staff. Employees who bring a depth of experience, heart for student gifting, and desire to mentor students in their spiritual development to their work each and every day.
